Introduction
This project was created to develop and implement a tool to monitor the early circulation of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the population by analysing critical locations in the urban water cycle, as a proxy for the prevalence of the COVID-19 illness.
Background
When the subsidy was approved in 2020, little was known about the COVID-19 virus. During the course of 2021 and throughout the project timeline, more information became available regarding the virus.
